Vaccination of elderly people in the country is going on very fast. But the children have not yet received the corona vaccine. So soon the wait for children to be vaccinated will end very soon. But before that the government is already making a list for sick children. Which may take up to two weeks to complete.
Children will then be selected and vaccinated in each district based on this list. This will start next month, i.e. in October.
The first batch of Zydus Cadillac vaccine will be ready in the next 15 days
According to the Ministry of Health, Zydus Cadila has promised to prepare the first batch of four crore vaccines within the next 15 days. The vaccine was recently approved for emergency use. Regarding the three-dose vaccine, a senior ministry official said the Zydus Cadillac DNA vaccine was intended for children. However, we are advancing age-appropriate vaccination with Covishield and Covacin. The DNA vaccine will be the first to be made available to children.
The risk of corona infection is higher in already sick children
In a country where the total population over the age of 18 is 940 million. The total population of children under the age of 18 is around 12 crore. It is estimated that about one to two percent of children have a variety of illnesses. The government had earlier formed a committee for sick children. Which has met more than five times so far. Experts present at the committee say that the risk of corona infection is higher in already sick children. So it is necessary to vaccinate this first. Not every child in the country needs a vaccine.
The first and second stages of testing are underway on the covacin nasal vaccine. The covacin test for children between the ages of two and 17 is almost complete. The results are yet to come. Mordana has been approved for use in Europe between the ages of 12 and 17. The vaccine has also been approved for emergency use in India. But even after three months the vaccine was not found.
